Travellin' Man Bio

This bio was issued with promotional copies of the "Travellin' Man" single in Germany. Originally written in German I have used a couple of web sites to get an English translation, which is shown lower down this page.

If anyone who knows what a "geflippte boy" is please tell me. This word has me totally beaten.

Hände hoch - Jetzt knallt's! Dieser Typ schiesst mit seinem total verrückten Video den Vogel ab! BRIAN SPENCE heisst der junge Schotte im Cowboy-Look, der mit seiner Single "I'm A Travellin' Man" die deutschen Charts erobern will. Aufgepasst! Der Junge mag viel- leicht verrückt aussehen, doch er hat ein kluges Köprchen, eine starke Stimme und einen soliden musikalischen Background. Mit Sicherheit ein heisser Anwärter für die Charts!

Brian ist kein absoluter Newcomer. Genauer gesagt: Musik macht er schon seit seinem neunten Le-bensjahr. Damals tingelte er noch auf seiner akkustischen Gitarre 'rum und spielte auf Schulfeten.

Mit 14 gründete Brian seine erste Blues-Band, in der er Bass spielte. Danach schloss er sich der Band "Bilbo Baggins" an, mit der er seine erste Platte auf-nahm.

Doch auch da hielt er's nicht lange aus: Brian wollte eine Solo-Karriere starten und zog nach London. In seinem kleinen Heim-Studio nahm er ein paar Demo-Tapes auf, die er verschie-denen Plattenfirmen schickte. Mit Erfolg: Bei Polydor bekam er den Vertrag für seine erste Solo-Platte "Brothers". Die daraus ausgekoppelte Single "Hear It From The Heart" wurde in Europa ein Top-Hit.

Vor zwei Jahren veröffentlichte der geflippte Junge sein zweites Solo-Album "Reputation", das bei Presse und Funk auf sehr gute Kritiken stiess. In der darauf-folgenden Live-Tournee feierte Brian in ganz Europa und in Amerika grosse Erfolge.

Mit seiner neuen Single "Travellin' Man" gibt Brian dieses Jahr seinen Einstand bei CHRYSALIS. Ein heisser Song, der bei Chart-Kennern schon als sicherer Hit gehandelt wird. Brian freut sich: "Wenn 'Travellin' Man' ein Hit wird, dann wird mein neues Album auch nicht lange auf sich warten lassen. .!"

The young Scot called BRIAN SPENCE in the cowboy look who, with his single "I'm A Travellin' Man", wants to conquer the German charts. Attention! The boy may look perhaps maddish, but he has a wise brain, a strong voice and a solid musical background. With certainty a hot aspiration for the charts!

Brian is no absolute newcomer. More exactly said: he does music already since his ninth year. At that time he still did small-time [events] on his acoustic guitar and at played school parties.

At 14 Brian created his first blues band in which he played bass. Then he joined the band "Bilbo Baggins" with which he made his first record.

But also there he did not stay for long. Brian wanted to start a solo career and went to London. In his small home studio he made a few demo tapes, which he sent to different record companies. Successful with Polydor he received a contract for his first solo record "Brothers". The Single from it " Hear It From The Heart " became a top hit in Europe.

Two years ago the geflippte boy published his second solo album "Reputation" which encountered very good criticism with the press and radio. In the following live tour of the of whole Europe and in America Brian celebrated big success.

With his new single "Travellin' Man" Brian is starting this year with CHRYSALIS. A hot song, which is already as a sure hit with chart authorities. Brian is glad: "If 'Travellin' Man' becomes a hit, then my new album will also not be long in coming!"
