City of Shadows

City of Shadows

The liner notes for the soundtrack say "A great song written especially for the movie by old friends D.W. Charles and Pete Glenister. Pete is a fully qualified doctor but prefers to live as a professional guitar-for-hire for Alison Moyet and others. Brian Spence took time off from touring his own album "Brothers" to record the song, and he made a fantastic job of it".

Projekt - Hand in Hand

Hand in Hand Album cover

Around 1986 to 1988 a German group of artists, calling themselves Projekt, wanted to raise money for handicapped children, Similar to Band Aid and other similar charity records of the time they wrote and performed a track called "Hand in Hand". Although the artists were mainly German and Austrian Brian Spence made an appearance on both the record and a live performance video. Brian sings one line, "Together we can make it, and we have to understand" in English for this worthy cause.

TC Gola of Hamburg brought this item to my attention, who recorded a performance from German TV. He kindly donated a video file for this to Spence Music. The hunt is now on for a vinyl copy. Can you help?

Other artists involved, apart from Brian, are:
